EFT and Sinohydro conclude EPC deal for HPP Ulog

One of the world’s leading infrastructure companies, China’s Sinohydro will build the Ulog hydro power plant in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project (www.eft-ulog.net) is being developed by the EFT Group. The two companies concluded the agreement in Beijing, on the margins of the inaugural Conference of the Secretariat for Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries.

“The project value is 44 million Euro’s. Sinohydro will build the Ulog plant on a “turn-key” basis. We are pleased that following Dongfang’s involevement in the Stanari TPP project, another reputable Chinese contractor will make an EPC debut in Europe working on an EFT project”, said Vuk Hamovic, EFT Group Chairman.

The Ulog HPP is a 35 megawatt run of the water power plant, being developed on the river Neretva, in the municipality of Kalinovik. The total project value is in the region of 60 million Euro’s. Apart from the plant, the project includes development of some 7 kilometres of new access roads. The Ulog plant is scheduled to come on-line in 2016.

Sinohydro is currently developing infrastructure projects in 55 countries across the globe, including power plants, airports and modern railways. In 2010 the company achieved over $ 25 billion turnover.
